Today I wanted to share some thoughts on the latest addition to my grooming regime, the Liquid Pore Exfoliant from Curology. Its purpose is to unclog and minimize the appearance of pores for a brighter, smoother complexion.
What’s the story morning glory?
Founded by Dr. David Lortscher in 2014, Curology has led the way in making personalized skin care accessible in all 50 states.
How to use:
Firstly it might be handy for you to know how to apply the exfoliant. Firstly you should clean the face, with a facial cleanser. Currently I’m still working through my Blackstone Facial cleansers that I reviewed in a previous article.
The hype:
Designed for all skin types including oily skin prone to spots or breakouts. Perfect for men, women, teens, or anyone looking to complement their existing routine
The bottle:
Well you know me, I like to look at the bottle even if it’s not a fancy pants designer fragrance. Firstly, it’s very plasticky. The main thing however is the cap pops and shuts in a secured fashion. I think the real USP is the easy to use dispenser bottle. Unless I’ve missed a trick I’ve not seen this anywhere else. A simple press down and plunge with a cotton pad or wipe and I’m good to go.
Any good?
I’ve long suffered from blackheads around my nose area, and oddly, around my ear lobes at times. I don’t necessarily have large pores, but the ones I have I like to know are as clean as possible. My skin texture has much improved since I started using it, it helped clear my blackheads. I’ve looked into further grooming products from Curology but have so many other products to get through that I’ll need to hang fire before making any other purchases.
My only gripe is that it comes in the 120ml bottle meaning it’s more tricky to travel with. And I can’t simply decant the liquid into a smaller bottle because of the built-in dispenser. However, it’s for home use and I’m ok with that. Available through their website for a modest $18.
The word on the street:
I’m on my second bottle now and I do see a difference in my skin because of this solution. I typically use it after I’ve cleansed my skin, and then moisturize after. It has a very light scent and leaves a little bit of a sticky feeling that I don’t care for but after I’ve moisturized I don’t notice it anymore.
